Community Guidelines

Last updated: 22 Aug 2026

Travel should be safe, respectful, and inclusive

We believe that travel should be welcoming and enjoyable for everyone: travellers, trip leaders, guides, drivers, suppliers, local residents, and communities. Patience, good communication, and consideration help the trip run safely and smoothly from booking to return.

Always

-Treat our team, fellow travellers, local people, communities, cultures, and environments with respect.

-Be curious and open to learning about local history, customs, beliefs, and ways of life.

-Be tolerant of differences in nationality, race, religion, language, gender, age, disability, identity, background, or opinion.

-Follow the laws, rules, customs, dress expectations, safety instructions, and environmental requirements of every destination.

-Listen to and follow reasonable instructions from the trip leader, guide, driver, or local operator.

-Ask questions and raise concerns early so that we have a fair opportunity to help.

-Take reasonable care of accommodation, transport, activities, cultural sites, public places, and the belongings of others.

-Obtain permission before photographing or recording people, private homes, ceremonies, or culturally sensitive activities.

We do not tolerate

Global Travel Experience does not tolerate violence, threats, intimidation, harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, stalking, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, exploitation, abuse, deliberate property damage, theft, illegal drug use, or conduct that places another person at unreasonable risk.

We also do not tolerate behaviour that disrespects local customs, cultural or religious practices, protected places, local communities, wildlife, or the environment. Excessive intoxication or any conduct that prevents the safe operation of the itinerary is not acceptable.

Leadership and safety decisions

For the safety and wellbeing of the group, a trip leader or authorised local operator may give reasonable directions, change an activity, restrict participation, or take other proportionate safety measures. Subject to applicable law, safety decisions made during the trip must be followed.

Romantic or sexual conduct between a traveller and a trip leader, guide, local representative, driver, or other person who has authority or responsibility over the traveller is not permitted during the trip. Any conduct involving a minor is strictly prohibited and must be reported immediately.

Consequences of unacceptable conduct

Conduct that breaches these Guidelines, breaks local law, creates a serious safety risk, materially disrupts the group, or prevents the itinerary from operating may result in:

-a warning or required change in behaviour;

-removal from an activity or venue;

-refusal of participation in part or all of the trip;

-removal from the trip at the traveller’s own cost and without refund for unused services;

-responsibility for property damage, medical, transport, accommodation, repatriation, or other costs caused by the traveller; and/or

-refusal of future bookings where reasonably justified.

We will consider the seriousness and circumstances of the conduct and may contact emergency services, authorities, medical professionals, or a traveller’s emergency contact where necessary or permitted by law.

Reporting a concern

If something concerns you, speak to the trip leader or local operator as soon as possible. If you cannot do so, use the emergency contact in your trip information or contact us at:

We will handle reports sensitively and will not tolerate retaliation against a person who raises a genuine safety or conduct concern.
